Thermoforming is a plastic heat processing, using sheets or films.

 Thermoforming is obtained by:

Vacuum
The preheated  plastic sheet lies on the mould by suction, copying all the geometry of the mould
 • High pressure
The plastic film is pushed on the mould by an external high pressure air jet which also helps cooling process. It is much used, for instance, for closing hooks of blisters.

It’s an alternative processing to injection technique especially if:
• to obtain very big components
• production of small quantities
• maximum nedeed flexibility in production ( different batches of finished parts)
• if thickness needs to be very thin
